Yii2 is almost ready. I'am sure it will include very nice helper class for image manipulating. But meantime there isn none. I love Yii 1.x old extension , the port from Kohana Image Library, and I'm sure I will be missing it in Yii2, so to avoid it I ported old Yii extension to Yii2
